Wendy Barrett has worked with glass since 1975. Most of her work is in private collections in Canada, USA, Australia and England. She expresses a wide range of sensitivity from structured abstract architectural forms to rich organic natural pieces. A play of texture and reflective surfaces gives the work a multilayered feeling, inviting the viewer into the glass altering their perception of the scenery outside. Barrett's technique of over layering different types of glass creating multidimensional elements of branches, wings, flowers and birds gives great depth and peacefulness to the images. In many pieces she leaves openings in the glass to add more dimensions to the experience and to invite Spirit within. Her work is full of pleasant surprises.
